After on-screen insinuations that she had an affair with a married man, Emma Hernán almost stopped Selling the Sunset quite.

“100% (I almost walked away completely). I was up until the very last second deciding whether I should do it or not, because I felt like what happened was so unfair,” Emma, 33, exclusively told. Us every week while promoting Mel’s Diner on Sunset, she now serves her vegan cheeseburger empanadas. “Ultimately, I came on the show to inspire women and what they portrayed is the opposite of what I did and what I stand for.”

“The reason I joined the show is to show young girls that you can only come so far. You can create your own story and your own dream, so when they took that away from me, it made me feel like I was something I wasn’t and I waited until the very last second,” she continued. “And the reason I ended up doing it was because I wanted to get my truth out there. I wanted people to see how hurt I was, because it hurt a lot.

The Realtor ultimately decided she wanted to use season 9 as a way to share her perspective. “Just coming out with my truth was really important to me and my family,” she told Us. “I’m so close to my family and it’s a decision they had a part in as well.”

Netflix’s Selling Sunset renewal for season 9 seems inevitable, but will the whole gang be back? The reality series, which debuted in 2019, became an overnight hit for Netflix as viewers were introduced to employees of high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage firm the Oppenheim Group. Selling Sunset always gets fans talking – whether it’s (…)

Emma joined Selling the Sunset and The Oppenheim Group in season 4. She quickly formed strong friendships with Chrishell Stause And Chelsea Lazkani – but she also made enemies. Emma’s biggest feud was with Nicole Young, who accused Emma of sleeping with a married man in several scenes in season 8.

“I was not given the floor last season. I had no idea what was being filmed behind my back. I filmed an entire season just trying to be there for one of my best friends (Chelsea) going through one of the hardest times of her life and it got taken away by what happened when the show came out and I was blinded,” Emma said We to find out what Nicole said days before the episodes aired earlier this year. “You saw me in a false and unfair light. I’m very passionate about it (because of) how much it hurt me. I really can’t repeat how much this hurt me, how shocked I was, how hurt I was, and how blindsided I was about everything.

Emma was grateful that Chelsea, 31, and Chrishell, 43, publicly defended her against fake news.

“They immediately came to my defense when we all heard about it,” she exclaimed. “And I’m very grateful to them because sometimes when you’re hurt and you lose your voice a little bit, it’s really nice to have people who love you and support you and I know that was so important to them and it meant so much to me that they stepped up for me.

While Nicole, 38, claimed Emma knew about the rumors mentioned on the show, Emma couldn’t disagree more, adding: “I had no idea.” Chelsea and Chrishell had no idea. It was literally a total blindside for me and my two best friends because everyone was making sure not to let them know because they were going to let me know, so I had no idea.

Selling Sunset struggles under the weight of two divisive feuds – but which side have the show’s stars taken? Selling Sunset, which debuted in 2019, follows the employees of high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. The Netflix series boasts expensive homes, but it’s the drama between the actors that keeps viewers (…)

Emma has disputed these claims several times since season 8 aired.

“I wish I was at least aware of what was being said behind my back, because then I could have responded to it and squashed it in two seconds because there was no truth to it. But it wouldn’t be as great a story,” she said. We. “It wouldn’t be as juicy.” So of course they didn’t give me that opportunity because they knew it would have been overwritten in two seconds. I wish things could have been handled differently and the people involved could have done things differently.

Nicole publicly apologized, which Emma refuses to accept.

“I will never accept his apology. I don’t think he’s a good person. I know she lied,” Emma told We. “I like to surround myself with positive people and she is not a positive person. What she did to me, what she did to Chrishell, and what she did to others, I am not okay with that and I never will be.

Even if Emma will have the opportunity to clarify things during season 9, currently being filmed, it will not be easy. “When you have to be with someone who literally hurt you and did so much damage, of course it’s difficult. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. What she did to me, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” Emma shared. “I think she’s so mean. Honestly, the only thing that compels me to bring this up and clear things up is to speak my truth so people can understand, but that’s the only reason I would have a conversation with Nicole.

Emma couldn’t say too much about how production is going, but she could say that fans can expect the unexpected.

“We’ve probably already experienced the craziest (moments) ever filmed on Selling the Sunsetso that’s already happened and we’re about two weeks into it,” she revealed. “I also had some really, really good times with Chrishell and Chelsea. The new season will probably be the best… It will definitely be very entertaining, that’s for sure.

As for where Emma stands Bre Tiesi – who disagrees with some cast members over the way she talked about Chelsea’s divorce on the show – when will season 9 return? Looks like the costars haven’t made any progress.

“I see how people treat others and I prioritize good people and there are things that happen behind closed doors that I don’t agree with,” she detailed. “I don’t agree with a lot of things that happened and there’s no disagreement. I actually wish the best for Bre, her family and everything. Sometimes – especially as a woman – you have to stand up for what is right and there are certain things that were wrong and I have to stand up for what is right and I sleep well at night knowing that I did it.

Off camera, Emma stays positive and celebrates her vegan cheeseburger empanadas officially served at Mel’s Diner.

“I have already been asked to put my empanadas in many different restaurants. I wanted my first restaurant partnership to be something iconic and there’s nothing more iconic than Mel’s on the Sunset Strip,” she shared with Us. “Mel’s is also very special to me and my family because we live nearby and it’s my dad’s favorite restaurant. So every time he comes to LA, Mel’s is where we go and my dad gets a vanilla milkshake to start his morning and that’s his favorite thing to do. I thought what better partnership than to have my empanadas at my father’s favorite restaurant.

She continued, “They’re going to stay on the menu indefinitely and we launched with the Sunset location and then we’re going to continue to launch at all the other locations. They’re adding it to the menu in a super cute way. We have this whole design. It’ll be there forever and the only two other people on the menu are Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lana Del Rey, so I’m in very good company!
