Premier League predictions for Saturday at 3 p.m.

Arsenal vs Everton predictions

Mikel Arteta admitted he was “gutted” after a late call against Arsenal in last Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Fulham, but he was understandably more upbeat after Arsenal’s 3-0 midweek win over Monaco and said his team were “looking forward” to facing Everton.

Storm Darragh caused the postponement of last weekend’s Merseyside derby, meaning the Toffees arrive at the Emirates without having played since December 4’s 4-0 win over Wolves.

The result ended a run of five without a win and also extended a curious streak which has seen one or both teams fail to score in seven of their last eight.

Having failed to find the net in their four matches before beating Wolves, Everton may need to keep a clean sheet if they are to claim a second win in their 32 away Premier League games League against Arsenal.

The Gunners have recorded shutouts in four of their last five home games and with Arteta confirming that Gabriel is in contention to return, the hosts should continue their defensive excellence and record another solid home win.

Arsenal vs Everton team news

Arsenal: Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Gabriel is back in training and could feature, but Riccardo Calafiori remains absent alongside fellow defenders Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White.
Everton: Michael Keane is available and Nathan Patterson, Youssef Chermiti, Armando Broja and Seamus Coleman are closing in on fitness, but Tim Iroegbunam and James Garner are long-term absentees.

Arsenal vs Everton expected queues

Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Bois; Odegaard, rice, merino; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.
Everton (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; Ndiaye, Doucouré, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin.

Arsenal vs Everton key statistic

Arsenal have kept clean sheets in four of their last five home matches in all competitions.

Liverpool vs. Fulham predictions

Arne Slot’s Liverpool debut has been fantastic and his opposite number Marco Silva could see his Fulham side become the latest team to take second place at Anfield.

The Reds are four points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand, while Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Girona means they are the only club to have won all six of their Champions League matches.

The Cottagers held Arsenal last Sunday and are having a great season. Although the table tells us they are tenth, the busy nature of the table means they are just two points behind the only team to inflict a defeat on Slot, fifth-placed Nottingham Forest.

Fulham can trouble Liverpool but the Merseyside side are currently playing with a cheat code. Mohamed Salah’s new contract is up for debate but his talent is not and he has scored in his last seven Premier League games and scoring an eighth consecutive game would see him become only the fourth player to do so.

The 32-year-old also scored the winner against Girona, taking his tally to 16 for the season, and looks to have a solid bet to score again.

Liverpool v Fulham team news

Liverpool: Arne Slot says Diogo Jota and Federico Chiesa could both be involved, but Alexis Mac Allister is suspended and Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley and Kostas Tsimikas remain injured.
Fulham: Tom Cairney and Calvin Bassey are suspended while Joachim Anderson and Harrison Reed are injured. The Cottagers were also hit by the news that Reiss Nelson faces ten weeks out with a hamstring injury.

Liverpool v Fulham expected queues

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Gakpo.
Fulham (4-2-3-1): Leno; Head, Diop, Cuenca, Robinson; Lukic, Bergé; Traoré, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.

Liverpool v Fulham key statistic

Mohamed Salah has scored in Liverpool’s last seven Premier League matches.

Best bet for Liverpool v Fulham:

Mohamed Salah will score

Newcastle vs Leicester Predictions

Ruud van Nistelrooy has made a positive impact as Leicester manager, taking four points from his two matches in charge, but a trip to St. James’ Park could prove more difficult than home clashes against West Ham and Brighton.

Newcastle have been extremely inconsistent this season, but home wins against Tottenham and Arsenal as well as draws with Liverpool and Manchester City highlight their abilities on Tyneside.

With the injuries also starting to dissipate, this is simply a game Eddie Howe’s side must win at home against a Leicester side who were convincingly beaten 3-0 at Manchester United and 4-1 at Brentford in their last two away trips.

Van Nistelrooy has a seriously depleted midfield with Wilfred Ndidi injured, Boubakary Soumare suspended and Harry Winks doubtful, which should play into Newcastle’s hands.

However, the Magpies have kept just one league clean sheet in eight and both teams have scored in 13 of Leicester’s 15 top-flight matches, so backing a high-scoring home win appears to allow punters to gain value.

Newcastle vs Leicester team news

Newcastle: The Magpies will hope Nick Pope, Joe Willock and Lewis Miley can overcome injuries to feature, but Callum Wilson has joined Sven Botman, Emil Krafth and Jamaal Lascelles on the sidelines.
Leicester: The Foxes are without injured Wilfred Ndidi and suspended Boubakary Soumare, while Harry Winks is doubtful, leaving them light on midfield options. Loanee Facundo Buonanotte returns but Abdul Fatawu, Nathaniel Opuku and Ricardo Pereira remain sidelined.

Newcastle vs Leicester expected queues

Newcastle (4-3-3): Pope; Book, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Gordon, Isak, Barnes.
Leicester City (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Justin, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Choudhury, Skipp; McAteer, Buonanotte, El Khannouss; Vardy.

Newcastle vs Leicester key statistic

Six of Leicester’s seven away league matches have exceeded 2.5 goals.

Best bet for Newcastle vs Leicester:

Newcastle wins and over 2.5 goals

Wolves vs Ipswich Predictions

This could well be Gary O’Neil’s last chance to save his job as Wolves sit second-last after a three-game losing streak and are four points from safety.

The pressure is indeed on, but Ipswich are level with the hosts and not faring much better, making it a genuine six-pointer even in December.

The Tractor Boys also arrive at Molineux on the back of a three-game losing streak and, while two teams lacking confidence often compete cautiously, it could be quite the opposite.

Wolves have kept just one clean sheet in 15 and appear to be undermanned at the heart of defence, although they have excellent attacking players, and both teams have scored in 12 of those matches.

Ipswich also have just one clean sheet to their name and five of their seven away league matches, which include trips to Manchester City and Tottenham, have rewarded supporters of both teams for scoring.

Wolves v Ipswich team news

Wolves: Joao Gomes is suspended while Pablo Sarabia, Jose Sa, Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic and Boubacar Traoré remain absent. Mario Lemina was replaced by Nelson Semedo as club captain.
Ipswich: Kalvin Phillips and Ben Johnson are still handling the blows while Axel Tuanzebe, George Hirst and Chiedozie Ogbene are all sidelined. Manager Kieran McKenna has reported an illness to camp.

Wolves v Ipswich expected queues

Wolves (3-4-2-1): Johnstone; Semedo, S. Bueno, Toti; Doherty, Lemina, André, Ait-Nouri; Bellegarde, Cunha; Strand Larsen.
Ipswich (4-2-3-1): Muric; H. Clarke, O’Shea, Burgess, Davis; Morsy, Cajuste; Burns, Hutchinson, Szmodics; Delap.

Wolves v Ipswich key statistic

Eight of Wolves’ last nine home league games have exceeded 2.5 goals.

Best bet for Wolves v Ipswich:

Both teams score and over 2.5 goals
