India vs Australia Test Day 3 Highlights: Jasprit Bumrah was India’s lone warrior as the visitors toiled on the second day of the Gabba Test. The day started well for India with Jasprit Bumrah dismissing Australian openers Usman Khawaja (21) and Nathan McSweeney (9) cheaply. Nitish Kumar Reddy also stepped up with the ball as he ended Marnus Labuschagne’s 55-ball stay in the crease. With the score at 75/3, India looked to bundle Australia out cheaply, but once again it was Travis Head who brought misery to India.…Learn more

India were once again chasing the leather as Travis Head hammered Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja. Steve Smith found full support in Steve Smith and the duo formed a 241-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Steve Smith ended his century drought and announced his return to form. Travis Head recorded his 9th Test ton and consecutive centuries against India. Jasprit Bumrah once again stepped in with the new ball and he dismissed Smith (101) and Head (152), taking another five wickets. Such is Bumrah’s brilliance that he is currently the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy with 17 wickets.

With Bumrah dismissing Smith, Mitchell Marsh (5) and Head in quick succession, India managed to get back into the match. However, the visitors once again let the game slip away as Alex Carey and Pat Cummins put together another 50-run stand.

Cumming might have returned to the shelter after 22, but Alex Carey ensured that Australia passed the 400-run mark and took complete control of the match. Rain is forecast for the remaining days of the Test and the onus is firmly on Australia to take the match forward.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is tied at 1-1 and for now, Australia look favorites to take the lead in the series. Can India intervene tomorrow? Only time will tell.
