Armstrong takes oath of office, begins term as 34th governor in North Dakota’s 135-year history | The powerful 790 KFGO

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Governor Kelly Armstrong took office on Sunday, December 15 as the 34th governor in North Dakota’s 135-year history.
Armstrong was sworn in Friday, accompanied by his wife, their children, other family members, and outgoing governor and first lady Doug and Kathryn Burgum. Secretary of State Michael Howe administered the oath of office to Armstrong and Lt. Gov. Michelle Strinden, who was also joined by her family.

Armstrong said, “Serving the citizens of North Dakota as our 34th governor is the honor of a lifetime. He added, “After six years of representing North Dakota in Congress, it’s good to be home.” Let’s get to work.

Governor Armstrong and Lieutenant Governor Strinden will hold their first meeting with the entire Governor’s Cabinet on Monday.
