Amy Robach and TJ Holmes ‘nervous’ before Big Family premiere

Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have been a couple since late 2022 – but they still have many steps left to take.

The shock of the couple’s romance – they were both married when their friendship blossomed into more – has long worn off and they have enjoyed bringing their two families closer together.

Amy is mother to daughters Ava, almost 22, and Annalize, 18, whom she shares with her first ex-husband Tim McIntosh. TJ is the father of daughter Sabine, 11, whom he shares with ex-wife Marilee Fiebig, daughter Brianna, and son Jaiden with his first wife, Amy Ferson.

Last Friday, the couple took a big step in their relationship and marked a big family first by making their red carpet debut with their respective daughters Annalize and Sabine at the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York.

Speaking on their podcast Amy and T.J. On Wednesday, the couple admitted that walking the carpet with their children was “no easy feat” and required a lot of discussion.

“We had to have a discussion with our child before we went out on the red carpet,” TJ, 47, said, adding, “It was no small feat, and a discussion had to happen in advance.”

While admitting that “they didn’t have to do it at all” if they didn’t want to, he said Sabine and Annalize “just kept pushing.”

“I was still a little nervous,” he admitted, “but Sabine gave me the okay.”

Amy admitted that “it was the first time” the couple brought their two daughters with them to a red carpet.

She explained: “Obviously it’s only been a year since we were both on the red carpet, so for us to go on the red carpet with one of our daughters – a piece in all, the four of us standing there, it was a decision.

“We talked to our daughters about it, and everyone agreed. So we went for it.”

Amy added: “It’s not just something we didn’t think deeply about before walking the red carpet.”

Amy previously admitted that mixing her and TJ’s families early in the relationship was “difficult.”

“As difficult as this has been for so many people in our lives, it’s the hardest for them because now they have to look at us in a different way from each other,” she said in an episode of their podcast in January.

“We have been very thoughtful, we have taken things very slowly and we are very patient,” she added. “But things are going well. They are peaceful and we want to continue building on that foundation.”

At the time the couple’s relationship was made public, Amy was still married to her ex-husband of 12 years, Andrew Shue, while TJ was also married for 12 years to Marilee Fiebig.

While many reports claimed that Amy and TJ had embarked on an affair, they confirmed that they were both separated from their partners and in the middle of divorce proceedings.

“The day the outing photos were released, we were both going through divorce proceedings,” TJ said in a previous podcast episode, with Amy revealing that she and her ex-husband had been living apart since August 2022 .
