New Year’s Eve falls on Tuesday, December 31, and beach bars and restaurants will offer plenty of entertainment to celebrate the old year and usher in the new. Many of them will also feature music events in the days leading up to NYE.

Neil Diamond tribute will bring his big hits to Ocean City

In Ocean City, the OC Performing Arts Center will present So Good: The Neil Diamond Experience at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27 ($35, $45). National tribute artist Robert Neary will sing Diamond classics including “Sweet Caroline,” “Coming to America,” “Forever in Blue Jeans” and more. The center’s website and social media accounts outline the current schedule for 2025, which will include concerts throughout the winter and spring.

Fager’s Island in Ocean City, Seacrets will vibrate until New Year’s Eve

On OC’s legendary Fager’s Island, there’s plenty of activity until the business closes for a two-week winter break, January 2-16. At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, the enclosed patio will have 80s music from The Chest Pains 2.0 (with an all-new lineup); at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 30, the last deck party of the year will have classic rock from Transfuzion. On Tuesday, December 31, the NYE party with the band Radio Hero will see ticket holders admitted only after 7 p.m. ($55).

Full Circle will perform at the annual New Year’s Eve party at Seacrets in Ocean City on Tuesday, December 31.

Also in Ocean City, Seacrets’ annual New Year’s Eve party on Tuesday, Dec. 31, will cost $20 starting at 5 p.m. and $30 at 8 p.m. Seacrets will be open until 3 a.m., with music from Full Circle, Kono Nation, The Sorties and Garden State Radio.

Rusty Rudder goes all out for New Year’s Eve, even with fireworks

In Dewey Beach, Rusty Rudder has been a New Year’s Eve staple for decades. The music on Tuesday, December 31 will be provided by four groups on indoor and outdoor stages – with its terrace on the water covered by a transparent tent. A fireworks display will take place over the bay. Musical programming includes Love Seed Mama Jump, Stealing Savanah, the Gab Cinque Band and Triple Rail Turn ($115).

Love Seed Mama Jump will play their annual New Year’s Eve show at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach on Tuesday, December 31st.

Ahead of next month at the Rudder, tickets are on sale now for a show that will honor the American jam band that was one of this year’s Kennedy Center Honors recipients. Tribute act Shakedown Citi will perform music from the Grateful Dead at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17 ($25).

Bottle and cork, starboard will be the hot spots on Dewey Beach

The Rudder’s sister business next door in Dewey, Bottle & Cork nightclub, will have a different vibe. It will feature the return of electronic music DJ White Panda on Tuesday, December 31. This year’s party has been dubbed Frozen New Year’s Eve and guests are encouraged to dress in white. Dewey’s DJ Knappy will kick off the evening at 8 p.m. ($42).

Elsewhere in Dewey, The Starboard nightclub has plenty going on as the new year approaches. Decade 80 will fill the dance floor at 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 28. Kristen & the Noise will rock the house at 9 p.m. on Monday, December 30. Although both of these shows are free, New Year’s Eve with music by Just the Tip will be a ticketed event ($49).

In Rehoboth Beach, party at Ale House on the Mile, Dogfish Head

Rehoboth Ale House On the Mile, which is located just north of the Dewey city limits on northbound Route 1, is making its party a two-night music event. The concerts will see Lower Case Blues and Sweet Leda join forces on both nights. Groups will tear it up from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday, December 30 ($30). They will then welcome the New Year from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31 ($35, $50).

In downtown Rehoboth Beach, Dogfish Head Brewery has come up with a unique concept for customers who might be taking a day off on Tuesday, December 31st. The event, called Pub-A-Palooza, will last more than 12 hours. music continues throughout the afternoon and evening, with four different bands playing multiple sets. Jeff Evans will kick off at noon and will be followed by Calico Sparx at 3 p.m., Al Frantic at 6 p.m. and the Nick Kashmanian Trio at 9 p.m. Entry is free and Dogfish regulars will be pleased to know that the usual weekly Tuesday discounts on pizza and burgers will remain in effect.

New Midway spot heats up quickly with Journey tribute band

On Route 1 northbound near Lewes, the Midway Shopping Center is home to the recently opened Palm Beach Bar & Grill (in the location of the former nightclub restaurant called Shrimpy’s). At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, the Palm Beach party will feature female-led Journey tribute act Frontiers ($140). Capacity is limited to approximately 70 percent of available space to avoid overcrowding. Frontiers singer Elaine Tuttle has received social media praise for her vocals from original Journey frontman Steve Perry.
