KFC fans are blown away after discovering all-you-can-eat buffets once existed – Food & Drink

Have you ever thought that a KFC all you can eat buffet sounds like a wonderful idea? Yeah, me too. And once upon a time there was one.

KFC certainly has a cult following and who would probably do anything for a fried chicken buffet.

And those who visited the chain in the late 90s and early 2000s know all about the offering, but those who didn’t get the chance were blown away.

Hell, it seems some Australians even want it back, and to be honest, I really don’t blame them.

Taking to a Facebook group, one user shared a photo of one of Western Australia’s old all-you-can-eat buffets with the caption: “KFC. Bring back the all-you-can-eat buffet. South Lake WA – closed the buffet in the early 2000s.”

Many flocked to the comments section of the Facebook post, and perhaps as expected, everyone wants to grab a KFC all-you-can-eat buffet.

One person wrote: “I want one now! » While another said: “Bring him back”.

But for many others, the very idea that it ever existed was a complete shock – and not something they were happy to miss out on, as one person wrote: “I feel ripped off.” »

KFC buffets haven’t just blessed Australia with their presence, Japan has had them too.

The royal array of fried foods at a Tokyo restaurant reportedly featured 50 different dishes, including pasta, fries, curry, soup, salad, biscuits, desserts and, of course, fried chicken according to a original recipe.

There were even exclusives like the special Fried Chicken Curry Soup and KFC Roast Chicken.

Of course, diners need something to wash down the 80 minutes of unlimited food, which is why there are unlimited soda and alcohol packages as well.

Parts of the US have been treated to the buffet, with Insider reporting that it observed one in Southern California in 2018, although it never knew “such KFC constructions existed.”

At this location, diners could indulge in as many KFC treats as they wanted for just $8.99.

But for now, we’ll just have to daydream about this fast food fantasy in hopes that they’ll come back so we can stockpile fries, salsa, and as much of that original chicken recipe as our stomachs desires it.

Recalling the good days in a Reddit thread, one nostalgic KFC fan wrote: “They kept bringing plate after plate of hot chicken. Good times! »

Another said: “I attended one of the buffets they offer in Japan and it was glorious! »

As others recalled their favorite memories, one commented: “Ahhh KFC All-You-Can-Eat in Bondi Junction.” $8.95 – where I chose to eat ONLY the skin of 6 pieces (because I could), gulp it down with unlimited sauce, and then proudly vomit! One of the proudest moments of my twenties! »
