Denis Villeneuve has perfectly demonstrated his expertise in several genres, with science fiction being considered one of his best fields to date. Of course, this statement doesn’t sit well with a lot of people, especially those who ostensibly helped Episode VI – Return of the Jedi garnering a new 82% critic score and 94% audience rating on RT, coupled with its $482.4 million worldwide gross on its $32.5 million budget (via Box Office Mojo). At the same time, part of the fandom nevertheless supports Villeneuve’s opinion.

On the one hand, while there are many supporters who defend Return of the Jedi Based on Villeneuve’s opinions, other fans support his taste and call him bold for bringing up the 1983 film first.
