Haryana govt accused of caste bias as two vice-chancellors resign | Chandigarh News

Rohtak: Senior Congress party member Subhash Batra on Tuesday accused Haryana’s BJP-led government of caste discrimination And unconstitutional interference in universities in the state which he claimed had forced two vice-chancellors to resign.
Speaking in Rohtak, the former minister criticized the recent ouster of VCs from Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) in Sirsa and Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU) in Jind. He claimed that these resignations – forced shortly before the end of their mandate – were “humiliating and motivated by caste-based prejudice”. Batra said, “Ironically, both the VCs were appointed during the BJP tenure. If their performance was not satisfactory, the government should have addressed it appropriately.

HC Junks Varsity VCs orders to suspend Registrar
The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has stayed the suspension and investigation of Dr Ashwani Kumar Singh, registrar of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, ordered by the acting vice-chancellor.
