Rob Schneider says he’s starting a ‘women-only talk show’ that’s ‘the opposite’ of ‘The View’

Comedian and actor Rob Schneider announces the launch of a new women’s talk show. His proposed recipe for success? Distance the program from one of the most watched shows on daytime television.

During a recent appearance on Fox News at nightSchneider said his new show would offer an alternative to The viewthe popular ABC talker hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

“No Apologies Media, my new company, we’re going to do a women-only talk show that won’t look like The view,” THE Hot chick explained the star. “It will be the opposite because it will be entertaining. It will be funny.”

He was asked if the series would intentionally go hand in hand with The viewSchneider said: “We’re going to compete with them, yes. I don’t know if it’s the same time slot. We’re not going to announce who will do it yet, but that’s what’s happening now. And that’s is official. So now we are moving forward.

A representative for The view did not immediately respond to Weekly Entertainmentrequest for comment Wednesday.

Schneider, who has emerged in recent years as an outspoken conservative voice, said the series will begin filming episodes next month because the plan is to “start filming the shows before the inauguration.”

He remained tight-lipped about who might host the show, although he said his team had “a lot of women that we love” in consideration. “They’re household names and you’re going to love it,” he said. “It’s going to be a funny show, it’s not going to drown people in politics. It’s not going to shame people and make them wince.”

Later in the interview, Schneider fired more shots at The view. “It’s as interesting as a painting of Hunter Biden made with his own excrement,” he said afterward Fox News at night played a clip from a recent episode. “They’re just shooting it and trying to make people feel bad. And people are tired of it. People don’t want politics. We’re going to have an entertaining show to entertain people all over America. We are us let’s not just try to make people angry and bitter and strengthen their political echo chamber. That’s what you and I do. here!”

Schneider reiterated that his show would not be politically oriented and discussed potential headlines. “We have an opportunity in America to move away from politics,” he said. “I don’t know what we’re going to call it: Lip service Or The other point of view“.

Despite Schneider’s suggestion that viewers have had enough The viewDue to the show’s political leanings, the series enjoyed lasting popularity over its 28 seasons. The program has ranked first in total viewership among all daytime talk shows and news programs for five consecutive seasons, and recently saw a massive increase in viewership following the re-election of Donald Trump .
