A judge has set aside two days for a preliminary examination of the case against a Pontiac man accused of killing his neighbor and raping his wife and young child.

Timothy Legard, 50, faces 11 criminal charges, including first-degree murder, multiple sex crimes, kidnapping and more, for the Sept. 18 incident. Wiliam “Bill” Allison was fatally stabbed with a kitchen knife outside his home on Ypsilanti Avenue East in Pontiac that day — allegedly by Legard — and authorities say Legard then entered the home and sexually assaulted Allison’s wife and 8-year-old daughter.

A preliminary examination is scheduled for Feb. 13-14 in 50th District Court, where Judge Jeremy Bowie will hear evidence and then decide whether probable cause has been established for the case to move forward to a possible trial in District Court. Oakland County Circuit.

Legard is being held in the Oakland County Jail without bail.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald described the alleged incident as “a brutal and horrific attack,” and Sheriff Mike Bouchard described it as “disgusting on so many levels.”
