Woman divides opinion after bringing her own ingredients to Wetherspoons following menu change – but is it genius?

THERE’s nothing worse than a restaurant changing the recipe for your favorite order.

Of course, you can just settle for the new version of your favorite food, or you can take a page from this gourmet book and bring in your own ingredients to restore the food to its former glory.

The Wetherspoons fan was enjoying a meal with her friends when she shocked them all by pulling a bag of gravy granules out of her bag.

Why you might ask, well the cooking fanatic had already discovered that her favorite sauce was no longer on the menu and had been replaced with chicken sauce.

Taking matters into her own hands, she decided to bring her own gravy granules to the pub, much to the dismay of her friends.

The incident was shared on TikTok by the mother’s friend Vicky, who captioned the viral video: “It’s never a normal girls’ night with me and my friends.”

In the video, Vicky asked her friend to repeat what she had just asked the waiter to bring to the table.

“For a cup of boiling water and a teaspoon,” the woman explained.

She then explained that she didn’t like the new chicken sauce and so decided to bring her own, in a sandwich bag, no less.

“I couldn’t bring the (sauce) container because the boys drink sauce with their tea,” she said.

The viral video then showed the foodie mixing her dark sauce in the cup before pouring it over her chips while her friends looked on embarrassed and made fun of her.

“Improvise, adapt, overcome. This is elite level ingenuity,” one person commented on the clip.

A second agreed the woman’s gesture was simply genius, saying: “It’s a brilliant idea to be honest.”

and a third said: “The sauce from the spoons is disgusting, I support this decision.”

Meanwhile, someone else had a similar problem at Ikea, he explained: “I took some ready-made Bisto in a bottle because my child doesn’t like the sauce that ‘They do but still want Bisto with their meatballs.’

But others were not convinced by the decision and criticized the woman in the comments section of the video.

“At that time, stay home and eat your child,” one said.

“Even the couple in the back (of the video) is judging,” someone else said.

And another wrote: “I would be ashamed. Don’t go out.”

But it turns out she’s not the only one who brings her own condiments.

Someone else chimed in: “I took salad cream to Wetherspoons because they stopped making it lol.”

“I have packets of HP sauce in my bag in case somewhere doesn’t have any,” admitted another.

And another Spoons fan wrote: “I bring my own garlic and herbs to Spoons because they don’t make it and I need it for the pizza.”

The condiment debate comes just weeks after the boozer revealed its Christmas menu
