Four new suburban trains enter service on Dhaka-Joydebpur route

Four new suburban trains have started running on the Dhaka-Joydebpur route from today (December 15), in response to high passenger demand.

Road Transport and Bridges Advisor Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan inaugurated the trains at Joydebpur Junction railway station today (December 15).

Officials of Bangladesh Railways and Gazipur district administration were present during the inauguration, which involved hoisting of a green flag and blowing of a whistle.

Traveling a short distance on one of the new trains, the advisor and his entourage disembarked at Dhirashram railway station, the stop before Joydebpur.

During the inauguration, Councilor Fouzul said, “The new trains were inaugurated on the eve of Victory Day so that the people of Gazipur can easily reach the office by commuting from their homes. We welcomed all types of passengers. be able to travel from Gazipur to Dhaka in a short time. We will then also launch suburban trains on the Narsingdi-Dhaka and Narayanganj-Dhaka routes.

The inauguration of two pairs of suburban trains on the Gazipur-Dhaka route was announced through a notice signed by Director Public Relations of Bangladesh Railways Md Nahid Hasan on Thursday (December 12).

According to the notice, the Turag suburban train will leave Dhaka at 5 am and reach Joydebpur at 6 am, with brief stops at Airport and Tongi stations.

The Turag suburban train will leave Joydebpur at 6:30 am and reach Dhaka at 7:40 am, with brief stops at Dhirashram, Tongi, Airport, Banani and Tejgaon stations.

The Joydebpur suburban train will leave Dhaka at 5:25 am and reach Joydebpur station at 6:25 am, with a brief stop at Tejgaon, Airport and Tongi stations.

The Joydebpur suburban train will leave Joydebpur at 7:10 am and reach Dhaka at 8:25 am, with a brief stop at Tongi, Airport, Banani and Tejgaon stations.

The same train will again leave Dhaka at 11:00 a.m. and reach Joydebpur at 12:00 p.m., depart Joydebpur at 12:30 p.m. and reach Dhaka at 1:40 p.m. with brief stops at Tongi, Airport, Banani and Tejgaon stations.

Meanwhile, the Turag suburban train will leave Joydebpur at 5:20 p.m. and reach Dhaka at 6:40 p.m., leave Dhaka at 9:45 p.m. and reach Joydebpur at 11:15 p.m., the notice said.

The weekly holiday for Turag suburban train will be on Friday, while for Joydebpur suburban train it will be on Saturday. Tickets for these trains can be issued only from certain stations.

Travelers using this route have expressed satisfaction and joy, saying that these new trains will significantly reduce their travel time.
