Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly feels KL Rahul needs a course correction after the wicketkeeper-batsman was released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Rahul led LSG in the franchise’s first three IPL seasons, having been recruited into the team ahead of the 2022 season. However, following his intense discussions with the owner of LSG, Sanjiv Goenka last season, Rahul was let go by the franchise ahead of the mega IPL 2025 auction. Ganguly suggested that Rahul needs a self-assessment and decide how he wants to extend his career.

“Yeah, confidence. He has to talk to himself. He has to talk to himself and say, just put it all aside. Ups and downs are part and parcel of the sport. Confidence is going to go up and down. You have to bring her back by then.working hard in nets.I know he went through a lot.Lucknow Super Giants released him.I don’t know if they will buy him back at auction. sure he will find a good team and get value from it in the IPL. But these things put pressure on players,” Ganguly told RevSportz.

Ganguly added that Rahul needs to look in the mirror and think about what went wrong. He also advised him to add a new approach to his game, especially with young players taking their game to the next level, especially in T20Is.

“So I think he needs to sit down with himself and get away from everything, from all his friends and family, from his team owners and the IPL, from the auction and his discovery of self. Look at the mirror and say: I have to play differently I have to “You have to be tough inside and fight through this time. He made a fantastic 100 in South Africa last time. He can score hundreds in these conditions,” he added.

“In and outside the team he sees young players playing well in T20s. You see what they did in South Africa. He needs to change and can’t keep playing the same way and s “Expect to be selected all the time, because someone else, they will come and be chosen,” Ganguly said.
