Passengers on board an express train traveling from Chhapra to Mathura experienced a near-panic situation here on Monday morning when smoke billowed from a coach due to a stuck brake. The incident took place on the 22531 Mathura SF Express between Gauri Bazar and Baitalpur stations, where the train was stopped, and the issue was quickly resolved by the guard and driver before it resumed its journey with a delay of about 30 minutes, officials said.

“After receiving information about smoke in one of the carriages, the train was stopped on the uphill track, and the driver and guard repaired the stuck brake, which was the cause of the smoke,” he said. said Bharat Kumar, station master of Gauri Bazar, adding that no passengers were injured in the incident. “After ensuring that the brakes were working properly, the train departed safely with a delay of about half an hour,” Kumar added.
