Strictly SLAMS star Craig Revel Horwood in shock attack just days after finale

FORMER Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan has launched a scathing attack on judge Craig Revel Horwood, after insisting he had “lost his shine”.

Just a few days ago, millions of people watched the BBC’s Strictly final, where Chris McCausland, 47, made history as the first contestant, even blind, to win the glitter ball.

But now Latin dancing champion Ola has called for judge Revel Horwood to be sacked.

The Polish professional who appeared on the show for nine years until 2015, claims Craig lost his courage because the BBC show became too sanitized.

She said: “I feel like Craig has lost his shine. People loved Craig for who he used to be. He told it like it is, saying he was no good, It was bullshit, but it’s almost like he has to say a positive thing now.”

And Ola added that Craig, who is the longest-serving Strictly judge, was clearly ordered to tone down the hard-hitting comments that made him famous.

“He was obviously told that they need to be positive and they don’t want any negativity on the show and that comes from the producers, but they need to look at what the audience really wants. That’s so kind.”

The mother-of-one, who is married to former professional James Jordan, then went further to demand that BBC bosses bring a new judge onto the panel.

She said: “What needs to change to freshen up the show? Put a different judge in there, spice it up a little bit because we know what they’re all saying. “

“They’re all the same every year, so maybe they need a new judge – someone with a little more spice on the panel. You might even have a different guest judge every week.”

But the world champion Latin dancer was careful not to criticize head judge and ballroom stalwart Shirley Ballas.

The 64-year-old’s fifty-year career as a dance professional earned her the nickname Queen of Latin, before being named the show’s head judge in 2017.

Ola added:

“Shirley is one of the most well-known people in our industry. She knows what she’s talking about. She has the knowledge more than anyone on the panel. She’s an extraordinary teacher. She’s an extraordinary judge. But I think to their role when we watch during the panel, they need to be a little more honest.

Earlier this year, Ola, known for her outspoken opinions, came under fire when she was accused of bullying by her former partner Steve Backshall, who called her “cold, rude and difficult” to work with.

After partnering with Ola in 2013, TV pundit Steve reportedly lodged a complaint with the Beeb after claiming Ola’s “rude and impatient” nature had undermined his confidence.

The allegations are part of Strictly Come Dancing’s bullying crisis, sparked by Amanda Abbington’s complaints about fired professional Giovanni.

Then professional Graziano di Prima was fired by the BBC after claims he punched, spat and kicked former celebrity partner Zara McDermott, 27, during rehearsals.

After a nine-month BBC investigation, concluded in September, it was revealed that Italian dancer Giovanni Pernice had been cleared of serious allegations against him.

But as Chris McCausland lifted the glitter ball on Saturday to 9.6 million spectators, many fans on social media were saying that the 20th The anniversary series was the best ever.

Bingo in Mecca teamed up with professional dancing champion and former Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan to share her thoughts on the finale and what the show needs to give it a refresh and keep it engaging for audiences.
