One UI 7 changes refresh rate settings for games

Samsung just released the second beta of One UI 7, its skin on top of Android 15, and a new feature built into this beta changes how you can set the refresh rate of games.

In older versions of One UI, you can limit the frame rate of games to 48Hz to save power. With the new iteration of the skin, you get to choose between 60Hz and 120Hz, and nothing else.

A UI 7 game movement smoothness setting

You can find this setting in the Gaming Hub/Game Booster app under Gaming Motion Smoothness. Samsung says this feature won’t affect games that have their own refresh rate setting. And games that don’t support going above 60Hz won’t magically start running at 120Hz if you flip that switch.

You can also adjust performance settings such as maximum frame rate, resolution, and overall optimization level separately for each game via Game Booster.
