Strictly star Tasha Ghouri reveals she almost quit Love Island and underwent therapy while in the villa

Tasha Ghouri revealed she almost quit Love Island as she spoke about her experience in the ITV2 villa on Sunday.

The Strictly star, 26, who rose to fame on the hit reality show in 2022, admitted she wanted to leave the show because there was “so much going on” all the time and He missed his friends and family.

Tasha, who was born deaf, revealed that after speaking to a therapist and ITV’s social team she decided to stay on the show before making it to the final with boyfriend Andrew Le Page.

Speaking to the Sunday Times, she explained how, halfway through Love Island, she was ready to leave: “There’s so much going on, you don’t have your phones in there, you can’t talk to your family and friends.”

When asked if she would go on the show again, Tasha added: “Absolutely not! Listen, I’m so grateful for this opportunity, it gave me the platform, I met (my boyfriend ) Andrew on this, but I won’t do it again.

Tasha and Andrew reached the Love Island final before losing to Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

The couple had a rocky time on the dating series after Andrew sparked controversy when he got close to Coco Lodge at Casa Amor.

Tasha was left seething after Coco revealed she had sexual contact with Andrew while he was away from the main villa, prompting him to claim he had forgotten the incident.

Coco was unable to keep it to herself that Andrew had told her he wanted to “ruin” her as he kissed her chest in the pool after entering the main villa.

Tasha shouted at Andrew from across the villa after learning of his actions, calling him a liar, telling him he had “screwed it over”.

After telling Tasha what happened, Coco added: “A lot of touching things, a lot of things said. He obviously wanted to fuck me.

Asked by Tasha if anything else had happened, Coco continued: “After he sucked my ass and told me he wanted to ruin me? It was real sex talk.

Speaking at the Beach Hut, Tasha said: “He showed me what he would look like in the outside world and I’m not here for that… He screwed himself up. I finished.’

Apologizing to Tasha later, Coco said: “I feel like I’ve been keeping that in. It just came out.” Probably the wrong way. I don’t want to cry but I feel guilty.

She was then seen taking Andrew aside to tell him that she had revealed the situation to the group, to which he asked: “Did you tell her everything?”

Coco said, “He might have escaped, sorry,” to which Andrew replied, “It’s okay, it is what it is.”

However, Tasha and Andrew then put their differences aside after apologizing and they grew closer again before finishing in fourth place.

Tasha now stars on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional partner Aljaz Škorjanec.

Tasha admitted she’s not worried about the Strictly curse because “Andrew is the man I’m going to marry at some point.”

This weekend, Tasha and Aljaz took to the Blackpool dance floor to perform some Paso Doble and topped the leaderboard with an impressive 39 points.

However, it comes after Strictly fans shared their concerns about professional dancer Aljaz and begged him to “please get checked out” following his performance last week.

The couple put on an incredible performance dancing their couple’s chosen routine barefoot.

Tasha and Aljaz received a standing ovation for their incredible routine, which included impressive lifts.

As they walked over to host Tess Daly before the judges’ comments, the pair were both out of breath.

Aljaz – who returned to this series after a two-year absence – seemed particularly out of breath, his heavy breathing being picked up by the microphone he was wearing.

This alarmed some Strictly viewers watching at home, who took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to ask the dancer to “get checked out”.

“Aljaz, you need to get checked out for this shortness of breath, my love; I’m more worried that Aljaz is about to collapse due to a heart attack!

It was no wonder Aljaz was out of breath after the energetic routine which saw him and Tasha score a huge 39 points from the judges, putting them at the top of the leaderboard alongside JLS star JG Gill and from his partner Lauren Oakley.
