Woman Paints Her Face Green for ‘Wicked,’ Then Realizes Her Mistake

An Irish actress and presenter left people speechless after a hilarious makeup mistake almost left her looking like a character from Shrek on live television.

Wicklow-based Rebecca Ryan is known for her roles in television series The Tudors and regular appearances on the Irish morning show Ireland AM. In his free time, Ryan creates lip sync videos for his social media and, inspired by the new film Wicked film, she decided to perform the song “Defying Gravity”. Fully committed to the role, Ryan covered her face in green paint, only to realize – far too late – that the makeup wasn’t coming off.

“I applied the green face paint without even thinking about it,” Ryan said. News week. “When I tried to wash my hands, it didn’t budge. My stomach sank. I was panicking because it was a Friday and I had to arrive on Ireland AMIreland’s biggest breakfast show, two days later.”

With only an hour to film while his daughter was at school and her mother took her baby for a walk, Ryan went ahead and finished the video, fog machine and all. But once the camera stopped rolling, the real chaos began.

“I went straight to the shower and scrubbed and scrubbed, but, in the daylight, I had a greenish-yellow tint. It was stuck in my ears, in the creases of my hands and under my nails.” , Ryan said. . “On Saturday I was still a shade of green and was terrified the studio lights would make it even worse during the live broadcast on Sunday.”

Ryan shared the makeup ordeal on her TikTok page, @hellorebeccaryan, where it has been viewed more than 674,000 times, and people have been sharing their reactions to the green face mistake.

Luckily, after a weekend of frantically scrubbing his skin, Ryan managed to remove most of the paint. “If you don’t look too closely, I almost got away with it,” she said. “But my nails told a different story.”

Despite the stress of the green paint, Ryan was happy that the clip made others laugh. “If a video can make even one person smile, it’s definitely worth it,” she said. “Our house is chaos at the best of times, but we wouldn’t have it any other way – it keeps the fun going.”
