Bizarre footage has emerged showing Kanye West discussing his “mental genius” in a deposition following a recent trial.

The I Wonder rapper was previously sued by tech company MyChannel in 2020, claiming he broke the terms of his “oral partnership agreement” and failed to pay them.

In a preview for a new A+E series, Interrogation Raw: Celebrities Under Oath, the 48-year-old – who is facing more legal trouble – could be seen causing chaos as he was questioned by lawyers.

When asked to raise his right hand, the father of four raised his arm without looking up at the screen, before confirming he was on the phone.

Attorney Michael Popok asked him not to use the device for the duration of the deposition, leading him to question whether that was “legally what it should be.”

“It is my basic rule for deposition, under California law, that you must be present and focused on the examination, not on a device,” the attorney responded.

“Because of my mental genius, to concentrate on this bullshit, I need to be on the phone,” he replied.

When his own legal team intervened, West then put his phone away, before swapping his cap for a face covering, telling Mr Popok: “You have no right to see my face.”

Asked about wearing a mask throughout his testimony, he simply shrugged his shoulders and replied, “Maybe.”

In another video, the Grammy winner refused to share where exactly he was from, before exploding when asked what was in the room with him.

“Are you stupid?” he spat. “You’re talking to the richest black person in American history.”

The footage was aired as part of Interrogation Raw: Celebrities Under Oath, which will premiere on A+E in the US on December 26 – it is unclear when the episode will air in the UK.

At the time, it was claimed that West ended the deposition after about 10 minutes.

MyChannel’s attorney, Ben J Meiselas, told AllHipHop.com: “West’s bad faith efforts to sabotage the deposition will also be viewed by the Court as one of the most outrageous and inappropriate depositions she has ever taken.” observed.”

According to PageSix, the MyChannel team is seeking $20 million in damages and a jury trial against West – claiming he failed to provide the promised investment.

The Grammy winner denied any wrongdoing before the two sides reached an agreement in 2021.
