Maine Criminal Justice Academy to graduate, largest class in history

VASSALBORO – On Friday, December 20, 2024, a record 71 police cadets will be sworn in to become Maine’s newest law enforcement officers. The cadets will graduate from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s Basic Law Enforcement Training Program (BLETP) in Vassalboro, led by Maine Criminal Justice Academy Director Jack Peck. Peck graduated from Mt Blue High School and served as Farmington Police Chief from 2010 until his retirement in 2020.

BLETP is an 18-week residential training program that began in August with 74 cadets. Seventy-one cadets will graduate Friday, making it the largest class in Academy history and one of the largest groups of female graduates, with 15 women.

The 46th BLETP represents 39 state, municipal and county law enforcement agencies spanning from Fort Kent to York. Below is the list of graduates and their respective departments.
