Nine Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppies were seized during the search.

Gardaí in Wexford seized 13 dogs from a house in Wexford town after the animals were found in poor living conditions. Yesterday, during the execution of a search warrant, detectives seized a quantity of illegal drugs worth approximately €6,000 along with other paraphernalia.

During their search, gardaí, with the assistance of the Wexford Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (WSPCA), also seized 13 dogs which had been abused by their owners. The four adult Staffordshire Bull Terriers and nine puppies are now in the care of the WSPCA.

The investigation into this case is ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.

The search was part of Operation Thor which actively targets organized crime gangs and repeat offenders through coordinated crime prevention and enforcement activities based on intelligence and the latest burglary trends. A further search of a house in the Taghmon area uncovered a quantity of drugs and a man was subsequently arrested for drug-related offences.
