Panam Nagar

A few kilometers east of Dhaka, located in Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj district, Panam Nagar (town), once an important commercial and political center of this region, stands like a relic of time.

So, if you are a history connoisseur and keen to delve into the glorious days of the past, Panam Nagar is the perfect place. This “ghost town” will surely transport you to another world and soothe your anxious mind.

Baliati Jamindarbari

Built around the 18th century, Baliati Jamindarbari offers a blend of historical appeal and rural tranquility. It is located in Baliati village in Saturia upazila of Manikganj, a short walk from Dhaka.

The gigantic Corinthian pillars of Baliati Palace, inspired by classical Greek and Roman architectural styles, still symbolize the opulence and power of the zamindars of Bengal during the colonial era.

It’s a must-see place for architecture and history enthusiasts!

Mawa Ferry Ghat

On the banks of the mighty Padma, about 50 kilometers from Dhaka, in Sreenagar Upazila of Munshiganj district, lies Bangladesh’s largest ferry terminal, known to locals as Mawa Ghat. The wide express highway leading to the ghat allows you to steer your vehicle as you wish, a rare experience in a congested city like Dhaka!

The major attraction of this wonderful road trip are the fresh hilsa fries served with different types of bhortas and the refreshing breeze coming from the river.

Mawa Ghat is a paradise for all fish lovers and who doesn’t love ilish?
