According to ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan, Burns is dealing with two illnesses that kept him from practicing Thursday, but won’t sideline him for the Giants’ next game:

“OLB Brian Burns (ankle/neck) is not practicing Thursday yet. Coach Brian Daboll says “yes,” he will play Sunday against the Falcons.

The former two-time Pro Bowler played in all 14 games for the Giants this season. Burns has eight sacks, a career-high eight passes defensed, and two forced fumbles on the campaign. He also has an 80.0 player rating from Pro Football Focus.

The standout pass rusher played well individually, but New York failed to match his level of production. New York is 2-12 this season and is out of playoff contention with just three weeks left. Although 2024 is all but said and done for the Giants, the Florida native is ready to keep fighting even if he’s embarrassed.

According to NJ.com’s Ryan Novozinsky, Burns battled groin and Achilles injuries in October, but that didn’t keep him off the field. These latest ankle and neck infirmities won’t be for Week 16 either, as he will take the field for the Giants in their next game against the Atlanta Falcons at 1 p.m. ET.
