Nehru had celebrated Ambedkar’s departure from his cabinet, says JP Nadda | News from India

NEW DELHI: Amid protests by Indian bloc parties against Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks in the Rajya Sabha against the chief architect of the Constitution, BR Ambedkar, BJP president JP Nadda on Thursday asked the Congress to “stop lying”, recalling the cases where its members “insulted” the Dalit icon.
The Congress has insulted and ignored Ambedkar and his legacy, he claimed on X and cited the works undertaken by the Modi government to honor Ambedkar’s legacy.
Nadda told the Congress and its “rotten ecosystem” that they had lost the Lok Sabha polls for the third time in a row and had also performed poorly in a number of Assembly polls. “In November, you lost a lot in Maharashtra. At least now stop lying. Because your lies will not go unchecked. Truth will always prevail. Jai Bhim,” the Union minister said.
Shah had accused the Congress of distorting his remarks and received strong support from his party members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“So I thought of sharing a few facts to illustrate the Congress’s deep hatred towards Dr. Ambedkar. Pandit Nehru hated Dr. Ambedkar. Yes, it was unfiltered hatred. That’s why Pandit Nehru got the Dr Ambedkar twice (in elections),” Nadda said. .
“Nehru was proudly writing to people abroad, expressing joy that Ambedkar was no longer part of the government,” he added.
Nadda said the “self-appointed guardians” of social justice in the Congress had made empty promises of making a grand memorial at “Chaitya Bhoomi”, where Ambedkar was cremated in Mumbai, but it was the Modi government which ensured in 2015 that the transfer of land has been carried out. . Modi prayed there twice in recent years, the Union minister added.
The BJP president also shared a deleted post of Congressman Sam Pitroda, who had rated Nehru’s contribution to the Constitution greater than Ambedkar.
“The dynasty’s most loyal courtier has explained what the Congress really thought of Dr Ambedkar, that he had no role in the making of our Constitution. Some screenshots are indeed worth a thousand words ” he said.
The message may be deleted but their true feelings will never go away, Nadda added.
