She’s best known for walking a mile in Louboutins, doing incoherent freestyles, and making a ton of money on OnlyFans.

Iggy Azalea’s adoring followers are greeted with the message that her “page is closed” if they head to her OnlyFans account these days, but she redirects them elsewhere.

Always astute and savvy, the “Fancy” rapper decided to try to broaden her horizons by expanding into other sectors.

The 34-year-old told her followers: “Hey everyone! I’ve been enjoying our chats so much, but I’ve decided I don’t have enough time to chat via this page anymore. You can find me on Telegram.”

Her exit from OnlyFans obviously came as a shock to her followers, as she reportedly grossed a whopping $48 million (£38.1 million) per year.

The musician reportedly rakes in more than $9 million (£7.1 million) every month, so people couldn’t understand why she would give up that kind of money.

That’s why Azalea revealed her motivations for leaving the X-rated site during an appearance on Laura Shin’s show. Unchained podcast a few months ago.

She also explained why she was trading sassy content for cryptocurrency following the launch of her $MOTHER coin and presence on Telegram.

As we mentioned, Azalea has branched out and this year even created its own contract-free telecommunications service, Unreal Mobile, as well as its crowdfunding platform, Dream Vault.

How Iggy Azalea found success on OnlyFans

Azalea explained that a lot of people think OnlyFans is “sexually deviant” – and while she admitted “that’s largely the case,” she thinks not all creators should be lumped together .

She said: “I’m sure a lot of people would like to think they’re very different from the people who go on OnlyFans, but surprise! They’re not! At least not on mine.

“OnlyFans was a different learning experience for me because I already have experience growing communities.

“I’ve been a musician for a long time, it’s been successful, and the way I’ve been successful through it has been cultivating a fan base.

“The way you do it is obviously different, it’s really through touring and then through the online community as well.

“This (OnlyFans) doesn’t have an in-person element.”

Why the rapper joined the platform

The 34-year-old explained that she initially signed up to the platform because she wanted to post “sexy images” that she couldn’t share on Instagram to promote an art book she had in the works.

But Azalea couldn’t finish it because she became “really sick.” However, her poor health made her realize that her followers weren’t just supporting her to see risky content.

“It seemed like they wanted regular human interaction or friendship more than a transactional relationship,” the rapper continued.

“I get messages – before I even close my page – from people on Instagram saying, ‘I’m so sorry I couldn’t pay for my subscription this month, but I love talking to you so much.’

“When I saw a lot of these posts, I started to realize that, okay, this is actually more about friendship connection.”

She realized she had value to her fans that went “beyond money” and was more about the community – which prompted her to sign up for Telegram instead to provide a more streamlined experience .

The Azalea Warning

Azalea also warned people not to be lured by celebrities’ supposed earnings on OnlyFans, as fame plays a big role in why some adult stars are so popular.

“When you’re on OnlyFans, your first month will be the longest, and from there it really depends on how much you make,” she said.

“When you don’t show a lot of stuff, like I didn’t, it’s about how much community you can create there.”

Unfortunately, the star said she would never reveal the exact amount she made from her content because she thinks it’s both “extremely cheesy” and “dangerous.”

Azalea added: “It’s a site that people can misinterpret, especially women, where they think, ‘Oh, I’m going to go show more and I’ll make a lot more.’

“It doesn’t even work that way. It’s a predatory space – just like crypto, in a way too. I guess where there’s a lot of money to be made, it can be predatory.

“I don’t really want to announce a number or an amount.”
