Vivek Ramaswamy: Vivek Ramaswamy as president? Old viral video claiming “it’s meant to be”

Social media users are sharing Vivek Ramaswamy’s high school speech, calling for him to be made president.

After dodging a government shutdown at the last minute, conservatives are not calling for Vivek Ramaswamy to be named Speaker of the House. The old video of Ramaswamy giving a speech at St Xavier’s High School is doing rounds on MAGA, claiming that Vivek is destined to be the Speaker of the House for a long time.
The video is from 2003, when Vivek Ramaswamy graduated from high school in Cincinnati. In the video, 18-year-old Vivek delivered his speech reflecting on his high school days by discussing the meaning of the word “beginning” as he delivered a commencement speech.

“Experience is like a knife. Its effect is determined solely by whether we hold it by the blade or by the handle and we would all do ourselves a great injustice if we only looked at the shining moments,” Ramaswamy said in this speech as he spoke about experiences of grief and mourning.
This is not the first time the video has surfaced. When President-elect Donald Trump selected Ramaswamy as co-head of the Department of Government Effectiveness, social media exclaimed over the younger Ramaswamy’s speech and clarity of thought.
“This tone has never changed!” Give it a “wow”! one wrote as the video went viral on Saturday. “As a high schooler, he would crush any Washington politician in any debate,” wrote another. “2028- Vance/Ramaswamy,” a third user noted. “Vivek for Speaker of the House,” wrote another.

President of the House of DOGE

Conservatives began tossing around the idea of a DOGE chair after Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy strongly opposed the bipartisan spending deal. Vivek Ramaswamy was the first MAGA spokesperson to say he read the 1,500-page bill and found it contained many unnecessary provisions, such as raising senators’ salaries. He said the bill was given to senators just a day before it was scheduled to pass so no one could read it, but he said he had read it and it should not pass. Elon Musk supported Ramaswamy and posted at least 80 posts on X, making it a deciding point for Congress. The bill approved by MAGA leadership was rejected by Congress, but the shutdown was ultimately averted.
Both Elon and Ramaswamy have been criticized for their intervention in the government affair, but several Republicans have pushed for a DOGE president after Mike Johnson.

“The last 72 hours have highlighted the positive impact that DOGE can have, but it has also highlighted the enormous impact that awaits us next year. We are ready for it,” Ramaswamy said.
Vivek Ramaswamy is a pharmaceutical entrepreneur who declared himself a candidate for the Republican Party nomination for 2024. In January of this year, he suspended his campaign and supported Trump.
