Unemployment rate in Croatia reaches 5.0%

BRUSSELS (dpa-AFX) – The unemployment rate in Croatia increased for the second consecutive month in November, figures from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics showed on Friday.

The registered unemployment rate increased to 5.0 percent in November from 4.7 percent in October. In the corresponding month last year, the rate was 5.5 percent.

In November, there were 89,897 registered unemployed, compared to 86,269 in October.

In November, the total number of employed people was 1.712 million, a decrease of 1.1 percent on the month.

Between January and November, compared to the same period of the previous year, the total number of people in employment increased by 1.9 percent, the agency said.
