Meet the nicest guys in Hollywood: from Tom Hardy who pays the salaries of an entire TV crew to Keanu Reeves who gives away Harley Davidson motorcycles

Some Hollywood actors may be accused of being inaccessible, but that’s not the case for all celebrities.

And Tom Hardy is among the nicest guys in showbiz, along with Keanu Reeves and Hugh Jackman.

Tom recently offered to pay the salaries of an entire film crew for Guy Ritchie’s new series after a construction company went into liquidation.

The Venom star, 47, recently filmed scenes for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming TV series The Associate in London.

But about 50 independent construction workers were devastated after the bankruptcy of Helix 3D, the construction company responsible for building the sets, the Times reported.

It was when Tom stepped in and offered to pay the workers’ salaries that Paramount resolved the situation and set about sorting out their paychecks.

And after Tom’s sweet gesture this week, MailOnline takes a look at who the nicest guys in Hollywood are…

Ryan Reynolds

According to Ryan’s co-stars in Deadpool and Wolverine, he is “the nicest man in Hollywood.”

Ahead of Deadpool & Wolverine’s release, Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen spoke about the film in an interview with Comic Book, where both actors commented on Ryan and Hugh Jackman’s reputation for being among Hollywood’s nicest stars.

Emma said: “They are the best people you will ever meet.”

Matthew added: “They might be the nicest – it’s a bit sickening. They are so adorable. They are so big, so kind, so funny and adorable.

Matthew then asked Emma directly, “Are they the nicest men in Hollywood?” To this, Emma replied, “I mean it.”

Ryan also revealed that he stopped getting paid during filming and took a lower salary to pay the writers on set.

Ryan explained: “I gave up getting paid to make the movie just to put it back on screen: They wouldn’t allow my co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick on set, so I I took what little pay I had left and paid them to be on set with me so we could form a de facto writers’ room.

The Marvel star said that even though he had to forgo his salary, it was worth it to help the creative team who were struggling to work on a tight budget.

He said: “I think one of the great enemies of creativity is too much time and money, and this film had neither time nor money. This really promoted the focus on the characters rather than the spectacle, which is a little harder to achieve in a comic book movie.

“I was so invested in every micro-detail and I hadn’t felt that way in a long, long time. I remember wanting to feel that more – not just about Deadpool, but about anything.

Keanu Reeves

Over the years, Keanu has earned the title of Mr. Nice Guy in Hollywood through an endless series of selfless gestures.

Reeves’ colleagues and fans came out to praise the actor’s caring nature and shared their positive experiences with the star.

Stories that have been told include Reeves, 59, handing out expensive Rolex watches to the John Wick stunt team and gifting Harley Davidson motorcycles to stuntmen who worked on The Matrix Reloaded.

Reeves is also known for reducing his own salary in order to benefit the film as a whole, whether to accommodate other big stars in the cast or to increase the budget for special effects and costumes.

Reeves’ celebrity made him a valuable addition to many social events, even weddings.

In August 2022, Reeves surprised a couple at their wedding in Northamptonshire.

He bumped into James Roadnight, a sales representative, and his wife Nikki, who works with dogs, because he was staying in the same four-star hotel as them.

Reeves previously delighted two other couples in 2018 when he posed for happy photos after their nuptials.

Hugh Jackman

Hugh has long had a reputation as a lovely person, and many fans have shared their favorite stories about him.

Although he is well known for his portrayal of the grumpy, tough, and angry superhero Wolverine, Hugh is much more likeable in real life.

The esteemed actor, 55, was praised for his “down-to-earth” personality and for being “generous” with his fans, as no one had a bad word to say about him.

One fan revealed they used to see Hugh in the gym, while another recalled meeting the Hollywood star while filming for the 2008 film Australia.

“I’m just adding my voice to everyone else who says Hugh Jackman is lovely. I met him very briefly while filming ‘Australia’ in North Queensland and he couldn’t have been more nice,” one said.

“Polite, friendly, funny, down to earth and generous with his time. The best guy.

Another recalled: “Hugh Jackman went to my gym while filming Wolverine. He said hello to me every time I saw him (at 5:30 a.m.!) and asked me how I was.

And a third agreed, adding: “My old flatmate did plumbing work for Hugh Jackman and said he was one of the nicest people he’d ever met.”

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

The Rock received praise from his teammate, Chris Evans, for his incredible generosity towards their team while filming their new movie Red One.

Speaking about working with the 52-year-old successful wrestler-turned-actor, Chris, 43, revealed that the international icon is an expert at boosting morale on set.

“He does this thing on the sets where at the end of the week the whole crew will put $5, $10 in this little bucket. They get raffle tickets. It’s called ‘Five Dollar Friday,’ he told People. “Someone draws a name at the end of the day and makes a few thousand dollars.”

Chris then marveled at how Johnson would “splash the pot in a way that no other actor can keep up.”

“As actors, we’re like, ‘I’m going to splash the pot.’ I’m going to put some change in here. I’m not in the running for this, but just a way to thank the crew every week,” Captain America explained.

But unlike anyone he’s worked with, Chris revealed that Dwayne would step in and more than triple the pot on offer.

The actor recalled that once, when the prize pool was 5,000, Johnson increased it to 20,000, before repeatedly deciding to fork out even more money for the team.

“It’s crazy. I’m not exaggerating. (Johnson) was like, “Oh, well, what’s the pot?” Five thousand dollars? What if it was called 20”, detailed Evans. “So he picks a name and someone goes crazy and he’s like, ‘Should we do this again?’ And 40? »…I’m not exaggerating: the number increased considerably and he removed five or six names.

Chris noted that their team was “so excited to work for” Dwayne, who, he pointed out, “works just as hard for them.”

Hearing Chris’ sweet remarks, Dwayne said, “Well, I love it. Our crew is the backbone of our company, so you want to take care of them.

Chris previously estimated that Dwayne handed out a total of $100,000 to different crew members on set in a single day.

The company is then said to have refused to pay £250,000 in wages before Christmas, and its chief executive, Brian Dowling, last week sent a devastating message saying their wages were unlikely to be in their accounts until the new year .

It wasn’t until star Tom stepped in and offered to pay the workers’ salaries that Paramount resolved the situation and set about sorting out their paychecks.

A source close to Tom told the Times: “He offered to (pay), but the production and Paramount settled the payment.”

Meanwhile, a Paramount source said they were “outraged” by the situation and plans were in place to ensure workers were paid.

In a letter seen by the publication, broadcasting union Bectu’s head of organizing, Chris Hudson, said: “Our members deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and paid on time for their work.

“It is completely unacceptable that they are facing great financial insecurity, particularly in the run-up to Christmas.

“As Christmas approaches, our members are rightly very distressed, with many fearing they will not be able to support themselves.”
