Maharashtra Cabinet Portfolio – Complete List

Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan allocated the portfolios to Cabinet Ministers and State Ministers on Saturday, December 21, 2024 on the recommendation of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Saturday (December 21, 2024) allotted portfolios to Cabinet ministers and state ministers on the recommendation of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

According to a notification issued by Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister Fadnavis has kept home, energy, law and justice, general administration department and information and publicity as well as ministries and unassigned departments.

Eknath Shinde, former chief minister of Maharashtra and now deputy chief minister, has been given the portfolio of Urban Development, Housing and Public Works Department (PWD).

Ajit Pawar, deputy chief minister, will be in charge of finance, planning and state excise.

Malegaon MP Dada Bhuse will be Minister for School Education, Chandrakant Patil will be Minister for Higher and Technical Education while Hasan Mushrif – the only Muslim in the Maharashtra cabinet, is in charge of medical education.

Uday Samant retained the Ministry of Industry while Sanjay Waman Savkare was appointed Minister of Textiles and Dattatray Girijbai Bharane will be Minister of Department of Minorities and Aukaf.

According to the official notification released by the Governor of Maharashtra today, the state will have 36 ministers and 06 ministers of state (MoS).

All the ministers had taken oath of office on December 15, 2024.

The ruling Mahayuti Alliance comprising BJP, NCP (Ajit Pawar) and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) won the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections, winning a total of 235 of the 288 seats.

The final ECI data shows that the BJP won 132 seats, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) 57 seats while the NCP (Ajit Pawar) won a total of 41 seats.
