Open-world sandbox game TerraTech is completely free, but you need to be quick

The latest giveaway from the Epic Games Store is TerraTechwhich is perfect for anyone with a penchant for building mechanical monstrosities. As the holidays begin, Epic is giving away daily free games that everyone can claim, and this creative, blocky sandbox experience is the latest offering. However, you need to jump on it quickly because it will only be free for 24 hours.

If you like Besiege, Kerbal Space Program, or even Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, you need to get started on TerraTech. I say this because you spend your time in this sandbox game building vehicles. You design cars, planes, tanks and anything else your mind can imagine, then you take this fleet around the world to become the ultimate intergalactic prospector.

You can build all sorts of vehicles to gather resources, defend yourself, and eventually build a base. The world of TerraTech is procedurally generated, meaning all sorts of pockets of minerals, adversaries, and other dangers can appear during your travels.

There’s more to TerraTech than just the campaign, though, as you also have Creative Mode and the Gauntlet Challenge, depending on whether you want to relax or push your creations to their limits. You can also play co-op campaign and creative modes, as well as a deathmatch mode that’s exactly what you think it is – as a lifelong fan of Robot Wars and BattleBots, this appeals to me immensely.

Outside of the Epic Games Store, TerraTech also has quite a status. With over 18,000 user reviews on Steam, it currently sits at an incredibly respectable 92%, or “very positive.” In fact, recent reviews are in the “overwhelmingly positive” range, which is even better.

Keep in mind that you don’t have long to grab the game for free, as another one will be revealed every day during the 2024 holiday period. The Epic Games Store is offering TerraTech for free until Sunday December 22 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm GMT and Monday December 23 at 3am AEDT. You can collect it here.

If you want even more, we also have all the best survival games and open world games you need to check out.
