Lamar Jackson threw three touchdowns in Saturday’s 34-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Baltimore Ravens quarterback couldn’t help but dwell on his fourth-quarter interception.

“I was angry until the end of the game,” Jackson said after the game. “I’m lying. I’m still angry. The game’s over and I’m still hot.”

The Ravens were on the verge of adding a seven-point lead in the first minute of the fourth quarter. A big run by Derrick Henry brought the ball to the Pittsburgh 11-yard line. Baltimore couldn’t capitalize, however, because Jackson threw a pass into the waiting arms of Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

The two-time MVP attributed the interception to miscommunication with wide receiver Rashod Bateman.

The turnover didn’t prove costly for the Ravens. Two plays later, cornerback Marlon Humphrey gave the home team some breathing room with a pick-six.

Jackson didn’t let the outcome change his view on the interception. He said it “could have made the difference” on another night.

Beyond the victory itself, Baltimore clinched a playoff spot and found itself tied with the Steelers for the lead in the AFC North at 10-5. Saturday night should have been a time for celebration, with recognition that there is still much work to be done.

Instead, Jackson clearly wasn’t in the mood to gloss over his Week 16 mistakes, and that focus is one of the reasons he maintained such a high level on the field throughout his seven-year career.
