Boy Scout Troop 425 will honor the 105th Eagle Scout on December 29 | News, Sports, Jobs

Minot Boy Scout Troop 425 will celebrate Logan “Will” Greenlee becomes his 105th Eagle Scout during an Eagle Scout presentation at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at the Congregational United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 430 N. Broadway, Minot.

Greenlee is the son of Natasha Greenlee and Destry Greenlee of Minot.

According to information provided by Troop 425, this past May he graduated from Minot High School, where he participated in the LEGO clubs, photography clubs and the swim team. He volunteered at the North Dakota State Fair and Norsk Hostfest food stands.

After graduating high school, Greenlee entered the U.S. Army in July, and while serving the country, he plans to also remain active in Boy Scouts by becoming an assistant scoutmaster at his next military base. Last June, he attended summer camp with his troop as an adult leader, and Greenlee completed Scoutmaster training. Her hobbies include photography, reading, art, pottery and baking.

His scouting career began as a Cub Scout with Pack 428 at Bell Elementary School in Minot until the pack folded. As a freshman in high school, Greenlee joined Boy Scout Troop 425 in March 2021. He has held the following leadership positions in his troop: scribe, assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, quartermaster and deputy senior patrol leader.

Greenlee earned 39 merit badges, so he will also receive bronze, gold and silver awards for earning 18 merit badges above the required 21 merit badges, a troop news release said . He has also won the following special awards: 50 Miler, BSA Lifeguard, Zero Hero and Troop Meeting Perfect Attendance Award in 2021, 2022, 2023 and Troop Camping Perfect Attendance Award in 2021, 2022, 2023.

Grennlee logged 69 days and nights of camping as a Scout, including three week-long summer camps at Northern Lights Council Camp Wilderness in Park Rapids, Minnesota, and one week-long summer camp at KM Scout Ranch in Montana, as well as three camporees from the Tomahawk district. and three Klondike districts.

Greenlee participated in the week-long National Youth Leadership Training in June 2023. As a Scout, he participated in Troop 2022’s week-long high adventure canoe trip to the Boundary Waters in Ely, Minnesota . He is also a member of the Fraternity of the Order of the Arrow, which is the Campers’ Honor Society of the BSA.

Her Eagle Scout project involved planning, organizing and coordinating volunteers and materials for the construction of the first bench canopy for Minot Public School at Minot High School to protect students from the elements. With the help of 16 volunteers and more than 90 hours, the project was completed last May.
