Ruby Rose has shared devastating family news.

The Australian actress revealed on Monday that her father, Peter, died in the run-up to Christmas.

‘RIP Dad. You’re leaving me. Alone. With so many complex emotions,” the 38-year-old wrote in a caption shared on Instagram Stories.

Ruby did not reveal the cause of her father’s death, but hinted at their difficult relationship, which she has spoken about in the past.

The former VJ grew up in rural Victoria on a farm with her mother Katia and father Peter, a racehorse breeder.

Her parents separated when Ruby was just a year old and she grew up as a “gypsy kid” and “moved around a lot” between Churchill, Gippsland, Surfers Paradise and Melbourne.

“I didn’t see my dad for a long time, but when I got to my teens I went through this period of self-discovery and wanting to know where I came from,” Ruby told The Sydney Morning Herald in 2011.

“My father broke my trust many times and everything in life comes down to trust. We learn it very early.

Ruby took a step back from the spotlight after controversially leaving the CW superhero series Batwoman in 2020.

Recently, the model took to her social media to share photos of her freshly shaved head.

Ruby recently spotted a lush black crop, but decided to cut her hair for the American summer.

Ruby shared photos of herself visiting The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary in California.

In the photos, The Orange Is The New Black star could be seen hugging a cow and a pig.

She also included a selfie of former Malaysian-Australian Neighbors actor Remy Hii, 38, who accompanied Ruby on her trip to the sanctuary for abused animals.

Ruby announced on Instagram that she had started writing her book and promised to expose the pop twins – who she did not name but called “the sisters” – for “how horrible they would have been” to her .

She also claimed that the “truth” she wrote would “piss off a lot of people.”

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show a few months after the split, Jessica said she had “a very complex relationship”.

She added: “I’m still trying to come to terms with reality every day, so it’s really hard to explain to anyone.
