State to pay full salary to allopathic doctors on study leave: Himachal CM

Sukhu said that the Himachal government is committed to providing specialized medical services to the people of the state.

Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Monday said the state government has given 100 per cent salary to allopathic doctors who are going on study leave to pursue PG courses and their studies would be considered in service.

Previously, they received 40% of their salary during their study leave. He said that the Himachal government is committed to providing specialized medical services to the people of the state.

CM Sukhu said that postgraduate medical students from Himachal Pradesh balance patient care responsibilities and educational commitments, which is crucial both for their professional growth and for the health system of the ‘State. By guaranteeing the full salary, the government intends to support their commitment, by improving both the quality of training of doctors and the health services accessible to the public.

He said this step would go a long way in fostering a more robust healthcare system in the state. Meanwhile, CM also unveiled the 2025 schedule of the JICA Vaniki project on Monday. Additional Chief Secretary Forest Kamlesh Kumar Pant, Chief Project Director Vaniki Sameer Rastogi, Project Director Shershtha Nand Sharma and other officials were also present on the occasion.
