Owner ‘panicked’ over missing black Labrador – then realizes her mistake

A dog owner went into panic mode when she couldn’t find her puppy, but it turns out he was right there in front of her the whole time.

In a video shared on TikTok in December under the username @lifeoflenny24, the poster can be seen running around the living room looking for her puppy, Lenny, who she describes as a mischievous Labrador retriever who loves to cause carnage .

“I couldn’t find him anywhere. I thought he was lost,” the clip reads, as the poster searches the room for his fur baby, with no luck.

But suddenly the blanket on the sofa starts to move. And that’s where her puppy is, blending into the black throw.

“He was literally running in a panic, he must have thought I wasn’t right,” the caption reads.

Labrador Retrievers love playing games and are always finding new, creative ways to have fun with their owners. Vet Street ranks them as the third most playful dog breed, after English Springers and West Highland White Terriers.

Because they were bred to hunt and retrieve, Labradors are considered high-energy dogs and need plenty of exercise each day to keep their bodies healthy.

A Dogster article medically reviewed by Dr. Lorna Whittemore states that while still puppies, Labradors need about five minutes of walking for every month of age, so a 4-month-old puppy will need about 20 minutes of exercise throughout the day. .

However, it is essential not to exercise them too much, as as a breed they are at risk of hip dysplasia, a condition that often leads to degenerative joint disease.

Adult Labrador retrievers need approximately one to two hours of exercise per day, which can be broken up into several walks or play sessions throughout the day.

Always pay attention to your puppy’s behavior during exercise. Because they have so much energy, these dogs will keep walking until their legs hurt or their pads are damaged, so if you notice them limping or showing signs of struggling, stop them .
