Pokemon Go players want to be able to transfer Shinyes after disappointing developments

Shiny Pokemon have been a part of the franchise since Generation 2, and while many have incredible color palettes, some of their evolutions have designs that make players regret ever evolving.

The first Shiny Pokémon to appear was a Shiny Gyarados, which shocked all Pokémon Gold and Silver players with its bright red body – very different from its usual blue.

However, while many shiny Pokémon look cool, many simply have a lighter or darker shade. Worse, there are Shinys with excellent color schemes, but their evolutions end up being sadly dull or barely noticeable, which is exactly what happened to one Pokemon Go player.

A Pokemon Go player regrets evolving his coveted Shiny

A Pokemon Go Reddit user shared the moment they transformed their very cool Shiny Geodude – which looks like a gold nugget – into a Shiny Golem.

Although this moment should have been an amazing experience, it turned out to be quite disappointing, as the differences between the normal Golem and the Shiny Golem are barely noticeable, with the Pokémon taking on a slightly yellowish tone.

The author shared his regrets saying that he shouldn’t have been in such a hurry to evolve Shiny Geodude and the comments section of the article exploded with other players sharing their opinions and experiences.

One user wrote: “Shiny Blissey is the worst lol. He shouldn’t have evolved Shiny Chansey,” and another replied, “Sometimes Shinies leave me thinking wtf??? “, alluding to other earth-shattering Shiny evolutions mentioned such as Togepi, Garchomp, Plusle, and Minun.

Some took a more positive approach by assuring the player that they would find another Shiny Geodude along the way, with one saying, “I evolved my Shiny Staryu… it was very sad, but I finally got another one and I’ll never upgrade it.”

While some cautious players research what Shinys look like online before evolving them, others get carried away with enthusiasm and do so without considering that they might end up regretting their decision.

Unfortunately – unlike other franchises like Digimon – Pokémon doesn’t offer mechanics or methods to reverse their evolution.

However, some users have suggested that a Shiny preview screen or Shiny Pokedex be included in the game so that players can make an informed decision before hitting the “Evolve” button on their Shinnies page.

This could be beneficial and – in the case of the Pokedex – it shouldn’t be too difficult to implement as there is already a way to see the differences between regular Pokémon and Shiny Pokémon, but only if you’ve already caught them A.
