Greater Noida fire: Massive fire breaks out at Greater Noida hospital

A fire that appeared to ignite Swastham Hospital in Greater Noida was actually a misinterpreted transformation fire nearby, causing no damage to the hospital. Emergency services quickly brought the situation under control and, as a precaution, a nearby school evacuated students safely.

GREATER NOIDA: A video showing a massive fire near Swastham Hospital In Greater Noida Thursday morning, sparked widespread panic on social media.
However, authorities later clarified that the fire originated from a transformer located 7 to 8 meters from the hospital, and not inside the premises.
“The video circulating on social media gave the impression that fire was inside the hospital, but it wasn’t. It came from a transformer located near the premises and the hospital itself was unhurt,” said Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, chief fire officer (CFO) of the district.
Emergency services were alerted at 10:42 a.m. and firefighters quickly intervened on the scene. “Our fire extinguishers arrived quickly on site and brought the situation under control. A vehicle near the transformer caught fire, but no casualties were reported,” the CFO added.
The video also showed a nearby school, raising concerns about student safety. Officials confirmed the school, located about 10 feet from the transformer, evacuated students as a precaution. “The evacuation went smoothly and no one was injured,” Chaubey said.
