President-elect Donald Trump opened a new front in his ongoing troll campaign against America’s northern neighbor on Christmas morning, revealing he had advised the hockey legend Wayne Gretzky run for prime minister of Canada.

Trump shared an article on Truth Social revealing a recent meeting with Gretzky where he said: “Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, soon to be known as Governor of Canada – you would win easily, you would win . I don’t even need to campaign. Although Gretzky had no interest, according to Trump, the president-elect encouraged the Canadian people to “launch a PROJECT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement.” This would be so fun to watch!

Trump posted on social media:

I just left Wayne Gretzky, “The Great One” as he is known in ice hockey circles. I said, “Wayne, why don’t you run for Prime Minister of Canada, who will soon be known as Governor of Canada?” You would win easily, you wouldn’t even have to campaign. » He had no interest, but I think the Canadian people should launch a PROJECT WAYNE GRETZKY Movement. This would be so fun to watch!

The current Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, recently met with Trump at his Palm Beach residence, Mar-a-Lago, following threats of increased tariffs. Trudeau is also reportedly considering resigning from his post as he faces internal pressure within his own party.
