A 17-year-old boy ran away from home screaming “he stabbed me” after a double murder on Christmas Day which also left a dog dead.

A teenager ran away from home shouting “he stabbed me” during a Christmas Day horror attack that left two people dead and another man injured.

Neighbors said the 17-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, suffered head and chest injuries in the attack in which the women, aged 38 and 24 years old, also died, while a dog was also fatally stabbed.

The nightmare unfolded as Wallace and Gromit was broadcast on BBC1 on Christmas Eve and last night a 49-year-old man was questioned in connection with the incident.

Police were called by residents to a block of flats on Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchley, near Milton Keynes, after hearing screams and seeing the teenager covered in blood running outside to call for help.

A local told MailOnline: ‘I heard shouting and screaming, I looked outside and the boy was outside saying ‘he stabbed me’. He was covered in blood and had injuries to his chest and head.

“There was a woman on the balcony screaming for help and saying she couldn’t breathe, then the guy who did it ran out of the apartment, got in his car and left , but the police arrived a few seconds later and we told them where to go and he was caught.

Another neighbor showed MailOnline CCTV footage of what looked like a limping white pit bull covered in blood and police later said the dog was taken to a vet but did not survive.

He added: “It’s not what you expect here, it’s quite quiet and it’s not what you expect on Christmas Day of any day. It really surprised everyone because it’s so quiet here.

The nightmare unfolded as Wallace and Gromit was broadcast on BBC1 on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to a building on Santa Cruz Avenue in Bletchley, near Milton Keyne.

Residents heard screams and saw the teenager covered in blood running outside to call for help.

Residents said the fatal stabbings took place on a top floor balcony and an English flag could be seen flying on the handrail of the two-storey building and there was also a bloody handprint clearly visible on the metal.

Police were also examining the front door of a house across the street from the building, which was also stained with blood and one of the victims reportedly knocked there frantically asking for help.

As police carried out their door-to-door survey, residents also left floral tributes in a corner near the scene while others tied bouquets to the fence of a park opposite the building.

MailOnline has learned that the youngest victim was from Nuneaton, Warwickshire, and had lived in the flat with her partner for several years and that her partner in his 20s was also injured.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin, of Thanes Valley Police, said: “We have launched a double murder investigation, which may cause concern to the general public; however, we have made one arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and the parties are known to each other.
