Gunshots erupt at nightclub, injure 2 after Christmas night in Jacksonville

A Christmas party at a club on Norwood Avenue escalated into a fight, gunshots and two men injured around closing time, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Around 2 a.m., the gunman fired several shots inside the Elevation Lounge, seriously injuring one in the back, abdomen and foot and the other in the arm and foot, the office said. sheriff. They are 24 and 33 years old and the second man does not appear to be involved in the fight.

The sheriff’s office did not describe the shooter but said detectives were speaking with witnesses and trying to obtain security video.
