A Thane-based woman, who teaches English at a school in Kalyan, has accused recovery agents allegedly working for Induslnd Bank of harassment. The woman shared her ordeal online, alleging that officers frequently visited her home looking for someone else. She said that even after informing them that the wanted person no longer resided there, the harassment continued.

“Induslnd Bank is a pathetic bank,” one woman wrote on LinkedIn. In the following lines she explained the reason for her statement.

“Their recovery agents came to my house looking for someone else. Even though they told them who I was and that this person didn’t live there, they still continued to harass me. I am a woman and this is a violation of my privacy. This kind of harassment is not acceptable,” she continued.

The woman further said that she would report the recovery agents to the police if they continued to harass her, asking: “Is there no safety for women in this country?”

After his post went viral, the bank “regretted the inconvenience.” “We regret the inconvenience caused. DM us your contact details/inquiry number and give us some time to get back to you with the resolution. Do not hesitate to contact our banking services by telephone,” the bank wrote.

In another comment, they asked him to email them details of the incident to help them come up with a “proper resolution.”
