The year introduced several new on-screen duos, whose chemistry and performances left an indelible mark, while bringing together beloved duos that sent fans into a frenzy.

Among the most talked about new duos were Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in Fighter, and Triptii Dimri alongside Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Both duos brought new energy and charm to the big screen. Meanwhile, iconic couples such as Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in Stree 2 have come together for the much-anticipated sequels of their blockbuster hits, rekindling the magic of their chemistry on screen.

1. Allu Arjun-Rashmika Mandanna

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna were cherished and loved when they appeared side by side in Pushpa: The Rise in 2021. With the huge success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which hit the screens on December 5, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna went on to prove once again that Pusha Raj and Srivalli’s jodi is here to stay for a long time.

Pushpa 2: The Rule has raked in Rs 1719 crore worldwide in just 22 days since its release, becoming one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. From Srivalli’s much-loved song in the first film to Peelings in the second installment, Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s on-screen bond continues to mesmerize fans on the big screen.

2. Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao

Few expected Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao to return to cinema with Stree 2, the horror-comedy will break most box office records. As per reports, the film made a worldwide gross of Rs 858.4 crore, while its total collection in India stood at Rs 605.8 crore.

3. Triptii Dimri-Kartik Aaryan

After the success of Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan returned with his popular character in the third installment this year. Unlike the previous film where he was seen alongside Kiara Advani, this time the audience witnessed his on-screen chemistry with Triptii Dimri.

Despite witnessing a clash with the mega-budget Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 managed to rake in well over Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office. The duo of Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan were praised for their on-screen chemistry.

4. Hrithik Roshan-Deepika Padukone

Bollywood powerhouses Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone were seen face to face in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter this year. While Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone have been a part of the entertainment industry for the past few decades, they were seen together on screen for the first time in Fighter. The public reaction to their duet was mostly positive. Fighter collected nearly Rs 350 crore in its lifetime at the box office.

5. Lakshya-Tanya Maniktala

Kill was one of the films that marked the action thriller genre this year. The Nikhil Nagesh Bhat directorial also received praise for the on-screen pairing of Lakshya as NSG Commando Amrit Rathod and his love interest Tulika Singh, essayed by Tanya Maniktala.
