Missing man found safe; another man still missing

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) – Deputies say a missing man has been found safe, while another man remains missing in Tangipahoa Parish.

Deputies said Robert Miano, 78, was in good health. However, authorities are still asking for the public’s help in locating 34-year-old Andrew Monistere.

Deputies said Monistere had not been seen since Wednesday, December 4. That’s when he was leaving his mother’s home on N. Billville Road in the Hammond area.

Monistere was last seen wearing a dark plaid shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. Deputies said he was described as having short, dark brown hair as well as tattoos on his wrist depicting a cross and a bull’s skull.

According to TPSO, Monistere suffers from several diagnosed mental illnesses and shows a recent decline in his condition.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Miano was last seen by family members on Monday, December 23. That’s when he was leaving a relative’s house near Brandon Drive and Drude Road in the Ponchatoula area.

He was finally found a few days later.
