Relentless neighbor harasses woman and faces creative reward that ends years of torment

Stomping harder than an elephant in the wild, playing music at 1 a.m., blocking you with their car – these are just some of the things annoying neighbors do. And if you’ve ever had one, you know how unnecessarily difficult they can make your life.

This editor was fed up with the “grumpy old man next door” who was making her life difficult, so after years of putting up with him, she decided to seek a little revenge, which ultimately led her to the leave alone. “The harassment for stupid things only got worse from that point on,” the OP recalled.

Talk to Bored panda regarding her “treatment” of a neighbor, the OP shared that she had no idea what he was like before she moved in. “All I really knew about him was that he seemed like a rural grandfather type who was a bit stoic,” she said, adding that she learned he bullied others people in the neighborhood by his neighbor on the other side of his house.

“She talks to everyone and she’s the one the other families told they were leaving because of my asshole neighbor,” the woman noted.

Unlike said neighbor, the “grumpy old man next door” didn’t talk to the OP much, so he never really discussed the problems he was having with her either. Instead, he let his actions do the talking.

“The first time the cops were called for something – it was so long ago I don’t even really remember what it was – I didn’t know it was my asshole neighbor. It wasn’t until I saw the cop go to talk to him after he talked to me that I clocked what was happening. It was about a month after I moved in,” the editor recalls.

“The harassment for stupid things only got worse from then on; for example, calling the cops because my ex-husband’s friend parked in his front yard. My asshole neighbor has only really spoken to me a few times over the years and he didn’t talk so much as yell at me – once saying he deserved respect because he was a veteran (he said shut up quickly when I told him I was too) and the only other time was what started this thing.

The woman’s little revenge seemed to have worked wonderfully.

Good neighbors are often taken for granted and something not everyone is lucky enough to have. According to the National Association of Realtors, more than half of Americans (52%) are upset with their neighbors. While it’s unclear how many of them are taking petty revenge on the sources of their irritation, the OP decided to give it a go and jumped into the depths of Reddit in search of inspiration.

“The plan for my revenge came about when my friend suggested spam,” the editor told Bored Panda. “That gave me an idea and I went to the ‘Petty Revenge’ subreddit to get more ideas on how to get revenge on my neighbor in a way that wouldn’t land me in jail (it took all my restrained so as not to physically attack the man when he threatened to shoot my dogs).

“That’s when I discovered the animal poop boxes you can send to people and I had more ideas for junk mail to write the neighbor down to, as well as the idea of ​​looking at the camera in a creepy way – doing it in nothing but my underwear was my little flair on that.

The woman’s little revenge proved fruitful; the day after “her little paranormal activity reenactment,” as she calls the episode on camera, the device was taken apart. Since then, the neighbor hasn’t called the police either – for a little over two years now.

“The ‘F**k Off’ sign stayed up for about six months, until the glue started to fail and the letters started falling off,” the OP said. “Unfortunately, he continues to harass the other neighbors, like the nice lesbian couple across the street from us, but they ignore him, which is a little easier for them since they don’t live right next to him .”

Fortunately, the woman won’t have to deal with the “grumpy man” for long. “I’m getting ready to move very soon,” she told Bored Panda. “So I thought telling this story would just be a fun little thing to throw out before I leave this house for good. Now there are almost twice as many upvotes as there are people in the town I’m moving to The internet is wild,” the woman laughed.
