A New Year’s Eve children’s event at Boxpark Liverpool has been canceled after organizers said ticket sales were too low to make the event viable. Our Kids Social had organized a special event in the Baltic Triangle dining and leisure area on December 31st.

Activities planned included a family silent disco, LEGO sessions, crafts and glitter face painting, as well as a mystery trail and street food on offer. In an email to parents, Our Kids Social said: “It is with great regret that we have had to cancel our NYE event at Boxpark, Liverpool due to low ticket sales. We held on as long as we could, but we just couldn’t do it. We didn’t have the ticket sales we needed to make the event financially viable.

“We apologize for any disruption this has caused you and we hope to be able to run our events for free with Boxpark again in 2025. Ticket light will provide a full refund for your tickets.”

Disappointed mum Emilia Bona told the ECHO: “I was absolutely gutted when I saw the email come through to say the event had been cancelled. I had booked to go with my husband and my one-year-old daughter, as well as friends with babies of similar ages.

“We booked the tickets weeks ago and were really looking forward to it. You don’t really see a lot of New Year’s Eve events designed for families and young kids, so we were really excited about this. “The baby will have no idea we booked it and aren’t going, but I’m still disappointed he won’t be able to have a fun afternoon with us.”

The main New Year’s Eve event at Boxpark will go ahead as planned on December 31. The “Big Fat Bottomless Dinner Party” begins at 5 p.m. and will continue until the early hours of January 1st.
