LG’s new UltraGear GX9 gaming monitor can go from flat to curved

LG today announced its latest WOLED gaming monitors with the new UltraGear GX9 series. The 45GX990A and 45GX950A have a screen diagonal of 45 inches with 5K2K resolution (5120 x 2160 px) and a 21:9 aspect ratio. They offer a response time of 0.03ms (GtG) and variable refresh rate support, although LG hasn’t specified the exact refresh rate.

The most impressive thing is that the 45GX990A can go from a completely flat curvature to a 900R curvature with a single press. This is ideal if you’re deliberating between a flat or curved monitor, as you can have both. The 45GX950A is a traditional curved monitor with 800R curvature and no bend to go flat.

Both new monitors come with Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro as well as HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity. You also get LG’s Anti-Glare and Low Reflection (AGLR) coating and USB-C with 90W of power. The new monitors support LG’s Dual-Mode feature, bringing automatic aspect ratio adjustments. ‘image and image size.

LG has yet to provide official pricing and availability details. LG has confirmed that it will bring more details about its UltraGear GX9 series monitors at CES 2025.
