KAsthuri Raja, father of actor Dhanush, has reportedly refuted Nayanthara’s claims regarding his ongoing legal dispute with his son. The controversy began after Nayanthara shared an open letter accusing Dhanush of not granting her a ‘no objection certificate’ (NOC) to use footage from ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ in her Netflix documentary, ‘Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.”

In her letter, Nayanthara claimed that she waited for two years for Dhanush’s approval to use the footage, but ultimately re-edited the documentary after he refused permission. She also revealed that Dhanush’s legal team had sent her a notice seeking Rs 10 crore in damages for a three-second behind-the-scenes clip used in the trailer.

However, according to Samayam TamThen, Kasthuri Raja dismissed Nayanthara’s claims that he followed Dhanush for two years as false. “As Nayanthara said, waiting two years is not real information. Dhanush is busy with his upcoming films,” he said.

He also spoke about the importance placed on work that he and his son maintain, saying, “Work is important to us. We run forward. We don’t have time to respond to those who pursue us or those who talk about us behind our backs. Like me, my son only focuses on work.”

Moreover, Kasthuri Raja said that he knew about Nayanthara’s relationship with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan only after the release of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’.

In her letter, Nayanthara expressed her disappointment over Dhanush’s legal action. “What’s even more shocking is your legal notice after the release of the trailer for the Netflix documentary. We were surprised to read these lines in which you questioned the use of certain videos (only 3 seconds) which were shot on our personal devices as well as the BTS visuals which are already very present publicly on social networks and demand a sum of Rs 10 crores. as damage for only 3 seconds,” she wrote.

The legal notice, sent by Dhanush’s lawyer, highlighted the need for evidence, stating: “My client is the producer of the film and your client has stated that my client did not instruct anyone to film the behind-the-scenes footage and the said statement is unfounded and your client must provide strict proof of this.”

Dhanush is yet to publicly respond to Nayanthara’s allegations.
