David Coote expects to QUIT his refereeing role before being sacked by X-rated Klopp, costing the official more than £1million.

DAVID COOTE can say goodbye to more than a million pounds after his astonishing X-rated rant against Jurgen Klopp.

PGMOL referee chiefs are investigating but believe Coote will resign before he is sacked.

The FA has also launched its own investigation. VAR specialist Coote, 42, was left off the UEFA match list for a Nations League match during the international break following his crude remarks.

Referring to Klopp’s nationality means Coote faces tougher sanctions following a possible charge of aggravated misconduct.

Fifa is currently considering his part-time position with them.

PGMOL boss Howard Webb said: “We have become aware of a video on social media which we take very seriously. We have opened a thorough investigation.

“David Coote has been suspended pending the outcome. I can’t say much more at this point.

The sensational minute-long clip is expected to end Coote’s career and cost him a fortune in lost earnings.

He faces losing his job as a Select Group 1 referee which earns him at least £100,000 a year.

And the Nottinghamshire manager has no hope of retaining a role within the PGMOL once he hangs up his duties – like many of his peers.

A source told SunSport: “He’s looking at over a million pounds out the window when you add it all up.”

Premier League referee David Coote SUSPENDED as video appears to show him calling Klopp a ‘c***’ in anti-Liverpool rant

A video was posted online on Monday showing Coote lashing out at Klopp and calling him “fucking arrogant”.

He also said Liverpool looked “crappy” in footage recorded several years ago.

Coote did not deny the authenticity of the video but “does not remember” making it.

The manager has a history with Klopp, who left the Kop giants in May.

Shocking David Coote video in full

First video

First man: “What did you think of the Liverpool game earlier, when you were fourth official?”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “Um, Liverpool were shit.”

First man: “What did you think of Jurgen Klopp?”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “C***, absolute c***.”

First man: “Why would you say Jurgen Klopp is a***?”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “Um, apart from giving me a good slap when I played them against Burnley during lockdown.

“Then he accused me of lying, and then he just threw a fucking punch at me – and I have no interest in talking to someone who is really arrogant.

“So I try my best not to talk to him. (James) Milner is fine, I get along with Milner.”

First man: “James Milner, he gets along well with James Milner.”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “You can see me there with a mask.”

First man: “Mask, obviously.”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “Yes Covid, we have to do it. Social distancing, right? We are two meters apart.”

First man: “We must respect social distancing.”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “Yeah, so but (exhales) my God. C*** German, fuck me.”

First man: “Long story short, Jurgen Klopp’s a***, Liverpool are all fucking bitches, we hate the Scousers.”

Second video

Second man (allegedly Coote): “That’s right, just to be clear, this last fucking video can’t go anywhere, seriously.”

First man: He’s a Premier League referee, let’s not spoil his career.

“Let’s be real, we’re good guys, but we can’t ruin a guy’s career. We’re not that bad. Besides, he’s a fucking legend.”

Second man (allegedly Coote): “So, yeah.”

First man: “Then let’s not ruin his career.”

They clashed after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Anfield in July 2020 during the pandemic-affected season.

The explosive comments cast serious doubts over his impartiality and suitability to referee in English football again.

His remarks about Liverpool meant he could no longer referee their matches with a modicum of credibility.

But he also cannot take charge of matches involving their rivals in case his decisions indirectly affect them.

And any club with a German boss or player could argue that they would not receive fair treatment from Coote.

The man who filmed Coote’s anti-Liverpool rant has been identified as former Nottinghamshire cricketer Ben Kitt.

Kitt was also reportedly suspended from his job.
