Genesis GV70 2026 refresh includes updated EV port and NACS

  • New cabin design and interface highlighting interior changes
  • The GV70 Electrified gets a larger 84 kWh battery, range not yet confirmed
  • New Terrain mode and adaptive damping improvements account for mechanical updates

Genesis has revealed refreshed versions of its GV70 lineup for 2026, including a revamped cabin design and new interface.

The 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 models get even more updates, including a larger 84 kWh battery, greater range, and the addition of a Tesla NACS charging port.

The Genesis GV70 is the brand’s best-selling model line, and Genesis has sold more than 85,000 of these models in North America, so this is a particularly important refresh.

Gasoline versions of the Genesis GV70 continue to be powered either by a 2.5-liter turbo-4 developing 300 horsepower or a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 developing 375 horsepowerpaired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

Some gasoline GV70 models and all electrified GV70s are equipped with adaptive dampers, including a system that literally reads the road and adjusts accordingly. Genesis has now added logic that allows for quick adjustments of front and rear damping for acceleration and deceleration. A new Terrain mode also offers specialized modes for sun, mud and sand.

In the electrified GV70, a dual-motor system produces 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, with a boost mode that provides 483 hp in 10-second bursts.

At 84 kWh, up from 77.4 kWh, the electrified GV70 will enjoy a significantly improved range compared to last year’s EPA rating of 236 miles. And thanks to the sequel 800 volt fast charging capabilityit will likely allow a full charge in just 20 minutes – with a CCS adapter, as Tesla Superchargers don’t yet deliver these power levels.

Genesis claims, however, that the addition of NACS more than doubles the size of the DC fast charging network available to Genesis EV drivers, for road trips and more. With the larger battery, expect 10-80% charge times to increase slightly from the now-optimal 18 minutes (when using a CCS adapter).

This refresh follows what has already been introduced in the revamped global versions of the GV70. The focal point of the revised interior is a new 27-inch OLED screen which fully integrates both the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment, not to mention wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The rest of the dashboard design has been completely reworked and reshaped, while a different design of the door panels as well as reworked materials, surfaces and lighting give this model an entirely cleaner look and feel, but also warmer.

While the exterior is largely retained, the gasoline models benefit from a new design and grille pattern; the new multi-lens headlights (MLA) emphasize the two horizontal lines of lighting at the front, and the skid plate area and front air intakes have been given a more chiseled look.

The 2026 Genesis GV70 models will arrive in the first half of 2025, and they will be “dual-sourced,” according to the brand, from its U.S. factory in Alabama and a factory in South Korea.
